Language Access Services

We provide interpretation and translation assistance to members of the local immigrant population.

El Pueblo's Language Access Services

Language barriers are just one of many difficulties that immigrants in our community face, yet they often compound to worsen other situational difficulties. At El Pueblo, we work to provide information to the immigrant community in a variety of languages including Spanish, Mam (indigenous language spoken in Guatemala), and more.  Furthermore, El Pueblo provides clients with interpretation and translation services as they navigate encounters with the legal system, police, and medical systems. We also provide assistance with interpretation of school and health forms.

In addition to providing access to Spanish and other host-country languages, El Pueblo hosts ESL (English Second Language) classes. In these classes, we teach the necessary phrases and structures of English needed to navigate an English dominant society.
